Jazz legend Dave Brubeck performed for two days at the Lincoln Center, delighting the audience with classics such as “Take Five” and “Blue Rondo a la Turk”. Potocki Wódka sponsored the exhibition of jazz photographs by Ryszard Horowitz, held on the premiere night. Ryszard had photographed Brubeck in Krakow in the 1950’s. Brubeck was touring Eastern Europe with other well-known names such as Louis Armstrong, Dizzie Gillepsie, Duke Ellington as part of a propaganda effort by the Eisenhower administration to promote American culture in the world. This experience led to the recording of the famous album “The Real Ambassadors”. JR Potocki can be seen encouraging the old man to have a drink before the concert!
